There are children running around and playing. I can see their faces glowing happily while they play. As I arrive, they greet me happily when they see me. In their hearts, I know they are very grateful as they were once very poor and couldn't go to school, but I came and helped them pay for their education. That's me in 30 years time.
Hello, I'm Vince. I live in AIT and study in AITIS. I live at ST-11 which is very near to my school. I'm in grade 6 now, the last year in my school. I'm an only child in my family. My home in the Philippines is in the place they call amazing Bohol. This is where one of the Seven Wonders of the World is, the famous Chocolate Hills. It is also known for the existence of ‘tarsier’ (small species of primate) and for its white sand beaches. I long to go home so I can enjoy the beauty of this place. My hobbies are reading books, playing LEGO, playing outdoor games like hide and seek with my friends and tag-team (catch and catch). I also like listening to music like “Faded”, “Castle of Glass”, “Despacito”, etc. in FM radio. I also enjoy watching movies. I am also engaged in sports like tennis with my parents, and soccer and badminton with my friends and lastly swimming. My dad taught me to play guitar and piano. Now I'm studying drums at Yamaha Music School. I'm now at the 9th session in drums and the lessons are getting harder and harder each Saturday. I am amazed at the many students at the Yamaha Music School who are studying different instruments like guitar, violin, piano, and drums. My talents in music allowed me to serve in church every Sunday. I play guitar with my Dad and other youths or substitute our pianist when she is absent and our beat-box player when he is not available. I am moody at times and not serious with the things I do but I hope to change for the better. My goals for the year are to perform well in my last year in AITIS and do my best in everything I do. In this way, I will make my parents very happy and will have the confidence I need to face Grade 7 in school outside AIT. I am now wondering where to go but with the help of my parents, I hope I will select the best school. I wish to finish my studies and pursue my dream and mission to be a blessing to many of God’s children by providing education to smart children who cannot go to school because they are poor. I like this quote “Good things come to those who believe, better things come to those who are patient, and the best things come to those who don’t give up”.
